Hello there yet again to all the old faithfuls, and seasons greetings to all the recently registered and signed up of you.
This is a newsletter from the wish-fairy at www.wish-list.net, and you are receiving it because you ticked the box in your account settings that says you want to be sent stuff like this. If you're worried, don't be. The old timers will tell you we don't send very many of these out
in fact it is a year since the last one.
So, once more we dive into the excitement that is Christmas. If you've been keeping an eye on the shops you will have seen that the (ahem) more forward thinking of them have already got their Christmas stock up and ready, and the wish-fairy actually knows one person who's already finished her shopping for Christmas! The less organised among us won't have got that far yet, and in fact we're just beginning to rack our brains to work out what we want, and what to get for the rest of the tribe.
======= Quick Maintenance First! =========
However, before you happily start adding new stuff to your wish-list, there are a couple of things you need to do to get it up to date:
1. Please mark all 'bought' items in your list either 'archive' (if you want to keep them) or 'delete' (if you don't). The reason for this is that 'bought' items remain in the public area, but 'archive' ones don't. This means that people who bought you stuff from your list last year will still see those items in their printable shopping lists, and they are probably getting upset with you.
Go to the wish-list site by clicking on the link at the bottom of this message, log in, and in the 'my list' area click the link at the top of your list saying 'archive bought items'. Easy eh? So do it now before you forget!
2. Some of your so called 'friends' may have reserved items on your list, and never bought them for you. (Bad friends!) There is a link at the top of your list that allows you to view the status of public items. Clicking on it shows you your list as other people see it - i.e. you can tell at a glance if something has been 'reserved' or 'bought' for you already. You need to go into each 'reserved' item and change its status back to 'available'. (You can check the date it was reserved for you by clicking on the 'edit history' link in the item if you need to.)
This is something you should do as early as possible to minimise the risk of seeing stuff that people are getting for you for this Christmas. So go on, do it right now. Before you read any further.
========= End of Maintenance Section ==========
If you're stuck for ideas as to what to put on your list this year, why not have a browse around some other people's wish-lists? Some of the links to various shops can take you to places you'd never normally look for Christmas presents. All the shopping and ideas links on the site have been checked recently, and as always, if you find an online purveyor of unsurpassed quality boutiquery, then please do let us know and we'll happily add the link to our shopping area so other people can benefit from it too.
The wish-fairy and the rest of the team here at wish-list.net would like to thank you for using the site, and we hope you continue to find it useful. We wish you all the very best Christmas possible, and we just know you'll be getting exactly what you want, because it's on your wish list!
With best wishes from
The Wish-Fairy
